What this journey taught me, And what comes next

28-05-2025

I've learned more in this pageant journey than I ever expected.

Not just about how to present myself, walk with grace, or speak from the heart  but about what it means to stand for something. To believe in a cause so deeply that it moves you into action. To carry your story with pride, and to speak not just for yourself, but for those who can't.

Looking back, I never imagined how far I would come. What started as a dream to one day win Miss Teen Nederland slowly evolved into something so much more than a crown. I found myself building an advocacy platform that actually touches lives. I saw girls in Gambia receive the chance to go to school. I stood in villages where families smiled just because we showed up , because someone cared. I created The Rise Project out of passion, but it's become my purpose.

And through that process, I realized something: I don't need to wait for a title to start making a difference.

Of course, winning would be an honor , something I'd carry with gratitude and pride. But truthfully? I already feel fulfilled. I already feel chosen. Not just by a jury, but by the path I know I'm meant to walk. One that's full of service, creativity, and unwavering heart.

I don't know what will happen on that stage. But I do know who I've become.

And if you're reading this: thank you for being part of the story. For seeing me. For believing in the power of purpose.

No matter what happens next, I walk forward knowing that this is only the beginning. The beginning of change, of impact, of rising , not just for me, but for the people I fight for.

With love,

Aminata.
